Our lending and insurance business are growing, and we have a number of positions to fill. These positions will support our conventional and portfolio mortgage business.
How We Work – Virtual Model
We have a virtual, work from home staffing model. A number of our team members are stay-at-home parents who want a professional role with flexible hours. We look for people with college degrees and either sales or sales support experience. Candidates do not need experience in the lending business. Our role often allow team members who elect to work full-time earn more than comparable roles at other lenders. We need self-starters who are willing to roll up their sleeves to learn the business.
We do not currently have any open roles but we are always interest in speaking to great candidates who may be interested in the following roles for the future:
- Loan Processor (remote role – full or part time): This is a back-office position. Loan Processors are responsible for collecting loan paperwork from our customers, packaging paperwork with our underwriters, and making sure loans close on time. This role requires high attention to detail and entails a significant amount of loan paperwork processing. This role is ideal for someone who prefers detailed back office work, as opposed to our other roles where team members need to be on the phone with customers every day.
- Inside Sales Representative (remote role – full or part time): This individual will support one of our senior loan officers. They will work jointly with the senior loan officer and help them land and close deals. This role is intended to be a 1- or 2- year role that will help someone learn the loan business and grow into a Loan Officer. This person will help quote rates, research the best loan options for each client, collect loan paperwork from clients, and manage the loan file as it moves through loan processing and underwriting to make sure the loan closes on time.
- Loan Officer (remote role – full or part time): This is a 100% sales role. Our Loan Officers provide loan quotes and lending solutions to customers who come to our website. We receive a large volume of online leads and need loan officers to sell loans to these clients. We also need loan officers who can build relationships with Realtors and other contacts in their local community. This is a commission-based role with high earning potential. Candidates will need to obtain a loan originator license for this role.

We are a conventional and portfolio lender that has been in business since 2006. Founded by Jay Hurst and Scott Bialek, Hurst Lending & Insurance is still managed Jay, Scott and their families. While the mortgage industry is known for high turnover rates, Hurst Lending is recognized for providing consistent, personal service to our customers. We started our business in Texas offering a full suite of conventional mortgage loans. In 2009, we began offering home, auto, and life insurance to our customers. in 2016, we expanded to other parts of the country and now offer home loans in 11 different states. In 2017, we launched our portfolio loan business and set up a Private Mortgage Investment Fund for accredited investors. We use the money raised in our Mortgage Fund to fund short term bridge loans to high-quality borrowers who don’t quite fit conventional loan requirements.
